Szabadulószoba Győr: Small room, big list: 45% of guests opted in, from a wheel that mostly gives away time

Szabadulószoba Győr added a SpiniX wheel at the exit in April 2026. Five months later, 270 of its 297 spinners had left an email, 45% had opted in to marketing and 9% carried the venue's offer in their wallet, twice the platform-wide share.

The challenge

A single escape room in a regional city sees a few hundred players a month, most of them in groups where one person booked. The venue had no mailing list to speak of and no way to bring a team back for its other rooms.

With one room, every rebooking matters more than at a six-room venue: a team that does not come back is not a lost game, it is a lost customer.

What the venue did

  1. 1

A SpiniX prize wheel went on a QR code at the exit, shown to every player after the game.

  2. 2

The prize set leaned on time rather than money: 10 extra minutes on the next game as the most common prize, a VIP experience, a gift card, and a rare 40% star prize.

  3. 3

Each player enters an email to receive the prize as a wallet pass, sees the Google review link once the prize is secured, and gets a reminder from the pass before the offer expires.

The wheel

  • 10 extra minutes on your next game (40% of spins)
  • 15% off (30%)
  • 20% gift card (20%)
  • VIP experience (9%)
  • 40% off, star prize (1%)

The results

Between 18 April and 4 September 2026 the wheel recorded 297 spins and 270 distinct guest emails: nearly one contact per spin, because the email is how the prize is delivered.

45.1% of guests opted in to marketing, above the platform median of 42%. 9.8% of prizes were redeemed on a later visit.

9.1% of guests installed the wallet pass, about twice the platform-wide share of 4.4%. Wallet-pass holders across SpiniX return 2.9x as often as guests without a pass, which makes this the number the venue should keep pushing.

The review link was tapped on 14.8% of spins, in line with the platform median of 15%. A concrete-prize wheel (free hints, a free player on the next booking) is the obvious next step.

How each number is counted

  • 297 spins: One spin is one guest completing the wheel on their own phone.
  • 45.1% marketing opt-in: Share of spins where the guest ticked the marketing opt-in box. Platform median: 42%.
  • 14.8% tapped the review link: Share of spins where the guest tapped the Google review link. Platform median: 15%.
  • 9.1% installed a wallet pass: Share of spins where the guest saved the prize to Apple or Google Wallet. Platform-wide: 4.4% of guests.

What made the difference

  • The most-drawn prize costs nothing: 10 extra minutes on a room that is booked anyway. It is also the prize that only makes sense if the team comes back.

  • A one-room venue can build a list as fast as a large one per spin; what differs is volume, and volume comes from asking every player.
